Not much to say about this one -- the Padres simply annihilated the Astros on Saturday night.

There wasn't much of anything that went right for Houston as San Diego slugged their fifth grand slam in six days on their way to obliterating the Astros by a lopsided score of 13-2.

Contrary to the score, Houston came out swinging to begin the night against Zach Davies. Similar to last night, Houston managed to load the bases early in the first inning, after a Jose Altuve double and consecutive walks to Carlos Correa and Kyle Tucker had the 'Stros in prime position to hang a crooked number.

Also similar to last night, however, was how Houston squandered their opportunities with runners in scoring position, as Yuli Gurriel was only able to squeeze out a sacrifice fly before Josh Reddick grounded out harmlessly the end the threat.

The Padres didn't waste any time retaliating -- Trent Grisham hit a leadoff home run off of starter Brandon Bielak to tie the game early. Two batters later, Manny Machado launched his seventh round-tripper to give San Diego a quick 2-1 lead.

Things fell apart in the second after Houston went down quietly in the top portion of the inning. The period was again led off with a home run, this time by Wil Myers. After two more runners reached, Trent Grisham would demolish another home run, pushing San Diego's lead to 6-1 with only one out. Grisham recorded three total home runs in the contest, becoming only the tenth player in history to do so against the Astros.

Brandon Bielak was pulled one batter later after accidentally hitting Fernando Tatis Jr. with a breaking ball, leading to an argument between the umpire and the Astros' dugout that resulted in Martín Maldonado's ejection. It was an unfortunate outing for a rookie who had up to now been a solid option in the rotation. He ended the night with seven earned runs charged to him, ballooning his season ERA from 1.69 to 4.37.

Humberto Castellanos took over for Bielak, and his outing wasn't much better -- Jake Cronenworth would put the proverbial nail in the coffin with his grand slam into right center field, pushing the lead to an ugly 11-2.

Among the few positives in the evening was rookie Taylor Jones hitting his first major league home run. Jones has recorded a hit in three of his five games this season.

Altuve had an effective 3-4 day at the plate. He seems to be finally turning a corner, as he's hitting .333 in his past seven games, and is 9 for his last 18.

Houston drops to 15-12 with the loss. Zack Greinke takes the bump tomorrow on ESPN at 3 PM CT to try and prevent the sweep.
