New York Jets' All-Pro safety Jamal Adams has requested a trade away from the team today, according to multiple sources.
The request comes after months of contractual disputes with the team, which has resulted in Adams calling the Jets' front office "a lot of talk, no action." Adams is currently signed through the 2021 season, but has repeatedly been requesting a new contract by the start of this current season.
According to an ESPN article, Adams stated that he would welcome a team to a select list of teams, with the Houston Texans being among them. Adams has spoken highly of Texans' quarterback Deshaun Watson in the past.
The other teams included in Adams' preferred list of teams were the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks.
The Jets have stated thus far that they have no intent of trading Adams.
