Friday night's game had no impact for the Rockets with regards to the the team's playoff positioning, and Houston's effort on the night reflected that fact. With the benchwarmers getting good run on the night, and the starters getting their final tune-up before the playoffs, Houston lost their final seeding game by a score of 134-96.
There wasn't much to do for the Rockets, who were already locked into a 4-5 matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder heading into tonight's game. The starters got a good bit of run in the first half, though the effort normally present in Rockets' game was noticeably absent.
Eric Gordon got some much-needed playing time, looking to find his shot before the first round of the playoffs. He seemed to have his shooting stoke at least somewhat down, scoring 13 points on 4-10 shooting (3-6 from three).
James Harden sat after a little more than 26 minutes of action, recording 27 points and ten assists in his final seeding game. Jeff Green went an economical 8-10 for 17 points in the loss.
The Rockets finish the season at 44-28, and officially end up at the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Their first game against Oklahoma City will be on Tuesday.
